Judy Glasser

Judy is an independent communications consultant in the greater Boston area. With decades of experience as a communications executive, she collaborates with Ball Consulting Group in advising clients on communications strategy as well as proactive, sensitive and crisis communications issues. Her broad experience at complex organizations in competitive environments encompasses media relations; public and community relations; internal communications; and marketing communications.

Most recently, Judy was Interim Senior Vice President of Communications for Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass. At Brandeis, she was responsible for an integrated communications program – media relations, issues management, digital and internal communications, publications and creative services – and supported many high-profile events, including the inauguration of a new university president and a major symposium, with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, in honor of the centennial of Justice Louis Brandeis’ appointment to the Supreme Court.

For 13 years, Judy was Senior Vice President of Communications at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a pre-eminent teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. This was over a span of time when the medical center went from struggling for stability to a significant recovery, eventually regaining its place as one of the top medical centers in the country. She was responsible for the comprehensive communications strategy and integrated implementation of media relations; internal communications; and branding, advertising, social media, and marketing, including the hospital’s longtime partnership with the Boston Red Sox. She managed all communications around complex and high profile crisis situations facing the hospital, ranging from state and federal inquiries, personnel issues, and events surrounding the Boston Marathon bombings.

Previously, Judy served as Vice President of Communications for the Massachusetts Hospital Association, and she was a communications consultant at McDermott/O’Neill & Associates, a public affairs agency in Boston. During the mayoralty of Boston Mayor Kevin H. White, she served as Public Information Officer for the Boston Redevelopment Authority and in the mayor’s press office. She has also held communications positions at the Massachusetts Industrial Finance Agency, Colliers International Property Consultants, Bay Management Corp. (real estate owners and developers), and the Boston Center for the Arts.

Judy received her Master of Science in Public Communications from Boston University and her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California at Los Angeles.
